    Some common symptoms include:

    • Intense worry or panic

    • Racing thoughts

    • Difficulty relaxing

    • Poor sleep

    • Difficulty making decisions

    • Increased Irritability

    • Physical symptoms such as pain, headaches, or digestive issues

If your worries are persistent, overwhelming, or starting to interfere with your life, it's a sign that you're dealing with anxiety rather than just everyday stress.

  • Yes, a little anxiety can be healthy.

In small amounts, anxiety is a natural and helpful response to stress or a potential threat. It can keep you alert, focused, and motivated to take action. For example, feeling a little anxious before an important event can push you to prepare and perform at your best. This type of anxiety is called "productive anxiety."

But too much anxiety creates emotional paralysis, putting your system in alert mode and preventing you from relaxing, gaining perspective, and viewing the future as filled with possibilities instead of fear.

  • It's common to wonder if letting go of anxiety might also mean losing the 'edge' that fuels your performance. However, there's a big difference between productive anxiety, which can motivate you, and unhealthy anxiety, which can be paralyzing.

Expecting never to experience anxiety isn't realistic. In fact, the goal isn't to eliminate stress. The goal is to keep it from overwhelming you or holding you back.

A healthy level of anxiety is natural and even motivating, but when it becomes too intense, it interferes with your performance and well-being.
