I am located in Iowa and offer online therapy to adults throughout the state. Just to let you know, licensure restrictions require that you be physically in Iowa during sessions.
-
When I opened my practice, I was skeptical about online therapy, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how closely it mirrors the experience of in-person sessions.
The right therapist doesn’t always live nearby, and online therapy allows us to connect no matter where you are in Iowa. You get the benefit of face-to-face sessions without the hassle of commuting or a crowded waiting room.
Teletherapy might be a good fit for you if you want the privacy and comfort of a space of your choosing and want to fit sessions into your busy schedule.
I use a secure (HIPAA-compliant) practice management system called Simple Practice. Don’t worry if you’re not tech-savvy. All you need to connect to an online therapy session is a private and safe space, a device and a good internet connection.
I’ll send you a simple link—click on it to join our session. You can connect with me from the comfort of your home (or office) using your phone, tablet, or laptop.
Feel free to bring a cup of tea and be yourself. I’m here to support you, wherever you are, in a way that fits your life.

I encourage you to personally verify your benefits before starting therapy to ensure that you understand your insurance coverage.
Locate and call the member services number on the back of the card. I recommend asking the following questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
Does my plan cover counseling services with Marni Moody, LMHC (NPI #1972370914)?
Do I have a co-pay or co-insurance?
Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it, and have I met it yet?
Is there a yearly session limit? If so, what is the limit?
Do I need a referral from my primary care physician for services to be covered?
If you have any questions or need assistance with this process, don't hesitate to ask—I'm here to help.

You have a few options:
You can pay the full fee.
You can request that your insurance company reimburse you for a portion of the cost by providing them with a Superbill. I am happy to provide a superbill for you to file for any out of network benefits you have.
If neither of these options are doable, you can search for a therapist that is paneled with your insurance company.

You’ll receive a link to join your online appointment. It’s as simple as clicking a button to connect with me for your session.
In your first session, we will talk. I ask you questions, and your answers will help me understand your goals, concerns, and history to develop a treatment plan. I will also share more about therapy and what to expect.

Clients typically start by meeting with me weekly. However, the length of time you'll be in therapy and how often we meet can vary greatly, depending on your treatment goals and how you respond to the process.
Our primary focus is symptom relief. Some clients find that a few months of therapy is enough, while others may benefit from a longer-term commitment.
To be sure that we are heading in the right direction, we'll frequently review your progress. We'll also work together to prepare you for life after therapy. The duration and pace are tailored to your individual needs and preferences.

In accordance with the No Surprise Act, uninsured or self pay clients will receive a Good Faith Estimate outlining costs of services and treatment.
You may also request a Good Faith Estimate anytime during treatment. To learn more about the No Surprise Act and Good Faith Estimate please click HERE.

When you schedule an appointment, that time is set aside for you. I ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This ensures I can offer that time to someone else who may need it.
Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice, as well as no-shows, will be charged the full session fee.
